We love photography and we love to photograph people. In this blog you’ll find images from our most recent photo shoots, tips about what to wear for your photo shoot, makeup, and other useful information. We may also include the story behind the photo shoot.
Roxanne Sahlin was recently recognized for her portrait photography in Tamron’s eNewsletter. Roxanne uses a Tamron 90mm lens for her portrait photography. Her portrait photography expertise and the Tamron lens enable her to provide clients with stunning portraits. Here’s a link to the article: Roxanne’s Tamron Article
Recently one of our favorite subjects wanted us to create some new images. We decided on a photo shoot in Myakka State Park. The images were created at several different places in the park. Some of the images were featured in Roxanne’s Tamron artricle.
After delivering images to our client Shannon Esposito, Roxanne suggested reworking some of the photos as black and white images, and as painterly images. We showed the client some samples of images we’d converted to black and white, and images with a painterly look. She liked the samples and gave us the go-ahead to rework images we had created of her. She was thrilled with the result.
We recently had the pleasure to create images for local author Shannon Esposito, author of Karma’s a Bitch. Ms. Esposito needed images for her website and Facebook page. As with most subjects who are not professional models, Shannon was not relaxed, but after a few minutes, she started to loosen up and we got some great images. Roxanne created the images with her trusty portrait lens. When we photograph a subject, we prefer to blur out the background, and render the subject in sharp focus, which of course directs the viewer’s attention to the subject. The author also wanted some images with a dreamy look, which Roxanne created with a Lensbaby optic.
We were contacted by an aspiring model to create images for her portfolio. After talking with the client and finding out a little bit about her lifestyle, we decided to create Stephanie’s images at a local park. The client loves the outdoors and was able to relax. Within a few minutes, she was flashing some lovely smiles and we were able to create images that she loves to update her portfolio.
Recently we were contacted by an attorney to create images for his promotional material and his website. After our preliminary consolation, we decided to create the images at his office. When we arrived at his office, we decided that the best location was in his office. He was more relaxed in his office than he would have been at a studio. In addition, he saved time by not having to drive to the studio.
At Doug Plus Rox Photography, we bring the studio to you.
